Frequently Asked Questions

  • Laser hair removal is a professional treatment designed to achieve long-lasting reduction in unwanted hair. At Bee Aesthetics, we use advanced Lynton laser technology, which delivers controlled light energy to the hair follicle. This energy is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted into heat, helping to disrupt future hair growth. Over a course of treatments, hair typically becomes finer, sparser and slower to regrow.

  • Laser hair removal can be used on many areas of the face and body, including the upper lip, chin, underarms, arms, legs, bikini line, back and chest. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs, with suitability depending on the area, skin type and hair characteristics.

  • Laser hair removal is generally most effective on darker hair because the laser targets pigment within the follicle. Depending on the equipment and settings used, a range of skin tones may be suitable for treatment. Blonde, red, grey and white hair typically respond less effectively. At Bee Aesthetics, we assess your skin and hair during your consultation to determine whether laser hair removal is appropriate for you.

  • Laser hair removal may not be suitable during pregnancy, over recently tanned or sunburnt skin, or where there is an active infection or certain skin conditions in the treatment area. Some medications and medical conditions can also affect suitability. A thorough consultation, medical history review and appropriate patch testing help us determine whether treatment can be carried out safely.

  • Most clients describe the sensation as a brief warming or snapping feeling against the skin, similar to an elastic band. Sensitivity varies depending on the treatment area and individual pain tolerance. Your practitioner will explain what to expect and use appropriate settings to help keep the treatment as comfortable as possible.

  • Most clients require a course of approximately 6–8 sessions, although some may need more depending on their hair growth, treatment area and individual response. Because laser treatment is most effective during certain stages of the hair growth cycle, appointments are spaced several weeks apart. You may notice reduced regrowth after the first few sessions, with improvements developing throughout your treatment course. Maintenance sessions may occasionally be needed.

  • Before treatment, you'll usually be advised to shave the area as instructed and avoid waxing, plucking and other methods that remove hair from the root. Recent tanning and excessive sun exposure should also be avoided.

After treatment, temporary redness, warmth or mild sensitivity can occur. We recommend gentle skincare, avoiding excessive heat and protecting the treated area from sun exposure. You'll receive personalised preparation and aftercare guidance during your consultation.

Say goodbye to constant shaving and hello to smoother skin.
