At Bee Aesthetics, we use advanced Lynton Excelight technology, which delivers controlled pulses of intense pulsed light (IPL) to target pigment and visible blood vessels within the skin. This helps reduce the appearance of discolouration and promotes a clearer, brighter and more even-looking complexion.
Lynton Excelight skin rejuvenation can help improve the appearance of several common skin concerns, including sun spots, age spots, uneven pigmentation, facial redness, thread veins and certain superficial vascular lesions. Treatment can be carried out on suitable areas of the face and body, depending on the concern. A consultation will determine which concerns can be treated safely and effectively.
Laser skin rejuvenation may be suitable for adults looking to improve pigmentation, sun damage, facial redness or uneven skin tone without surgery. IPL treatments are generally most suitable for lighter, untanned skin tones, although suitability depends on the specific concern, equipment settings and individual skin characteristics. IPL skin rejuvenation may not be suitable if you are pregnant, have recently tanned skin, are taking certain photosensitising medications or have an active infection in the treatment area. Some skin conditions, medical histories and types of pigmentation may also make treatment unsuitable. A thorough consultation and appropriate patch testing are carried out to help ensure treatment is suitable for your skin.
Most clients describe the sensation as a brief warming or snapping feeling against the skin, similar to an elastic band. Some temporary redness, warmth or mild swelling may occur afterwards. Pigmented areas can initially appear darker before gradually fading. Many clients can return to their usual activities relatively quickly, although recovery varies depending on the treatment and individual skin response.
The number of sessions depends on your skin concerns, their severity and your individual response to treatment. Some clients notice improvements after a single session, while others benefit from a course of approximately 3–6 treatments, usually spaced several weeks apart. Pigmentation may gradually fade over the following weeks, while improvements in redness and thread veins can require additional sessions. Results vary, and maintenance treatments may be recommended.
Before treatment, you should avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure, and inform your practitioner about any medications or active skincare products you use. Certain products, including retinoids and exfoliating acids, may need to be temporarily paused as advised.
After treatment, use gentle skincare, avoid excessive heat and protect your skin with a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen.
